Before you know it, tomato sauce residues and splatters of it is everywhere, including your carpets. Tomato sauce can be tricky to remove from carpets. With this in mind, we at Steam Magic Carpet Cleaning would like to share a few methods on removing tomato sauce from the carpet.

Method #1 Tomato Sauce Removal Stain from Carpet

Act quickly before the stain can settle into the carpet as soon as you discover the tomato sauce stain.
1) Working from the outside in, using a clean cloth or sponge soaked in cold water, sponge the stain.
2) Onto the affected area of the carpet, take a slice of lemon and rub it.
3) Blot as much of the water as possible using a clean cloth or towel after pouring a generous amount of water onto the carpet to cover the area.
4) Let the area fully dry and once completely dry, vacuum the area well.

Method #2 To Get Tomato Sauce Stains Out of Carpet

Carefully remove any remaining tomato sauce that’s still lurking on your carpet using a spoon or knife.
1) To keep the stain from spreading, start from the outside of the stain.
2) Firmly press onto the stain to soak up the tomato sauce stain using a damp sponge.
3) Using firm pressure, press a clean paper towel onto the stain to absorb any remaining liquid or tomato sauce residue.
4) Combine 2 cold cups of water with 1 tablespoon of liquid dish detergent in a squirt bottle.
5) Blot the affected area, soak a clean cloth or sponge in this solution.
6) With cold water, rinse the carpet and pat dry with clean towel.

Method #3 To Remove Tomato Sauce Spills from Carpets

If in the event methods # 1 and # 2 aren’t 100% effective, below is another method you can try.
1) In a squirt bottle, combine 3 tablespoons of cold water and 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide.
2) Onto the affected area of your carpet and let it soak into the carpet fibers, spray the mixture generously. On a less visible part of the carpet beforehand, consider testing a small to ensure it does not compromise the carpet.
3) For 30 minutes to block out any light, cover the spot with a white towel. To make sure the color of the carpet isn’t changing, it is a good idea to check on the spot every 5 minutes.
4) With cold water, rinse the area well.
5) Dry the area well, once fully dried, vacuum the area.
